Velvetstorm Media
Velvetstorm Media is a small Swiss-based music label run on a freelance basis, whose main aim is to promote local and international musicians, as well as uniting them with the music industry and music lovers.
The first edition of our website went online in 2007/2008 as DoJo Media, covering a wide spectrum of the arts. However, our focus rapidly changed towards supporting certain musicians to make their voices even more effectively heard and so Velvetstorm Media was born.
What Velvetstorm Media now primarily offers is recommendation of musicians who we strongly believe demonstrate enormous potential and quality for a successful future. A crucial factor for us is not only an artist’s music itself but their attitude and dedication.
Besides our website, we also utilise social media networks such as Twitter and Facebook in order to make these recommendations/promotions possible. However, we are not solely a promotional tool; we also enjoy writing the occasional out-of-the-ordinary concert review, just to keep the human touch alive.
An additional component of Velvetstorm Media is web design. As is evident, our homepage has completely been designed by ourselves and we are definitely not adverse to assisting an artist with their website, if they wish, whether by creating one for them or giving them a tip or two.
Our motto - „A unique way to promote musicians!“ – clearly demonstrates the passion we feel for our product, which is an inevitable part of our daily life. We are here with heart and soul to help those we truly believe in, who need that little extra support.
In an ideal world, the music industry would be working more as a united support network for artists, rather than fragments competing against each other. While the larger commercial labels are doing a tremendous job supporting mainstream artists, they either don't have enough capacity, time or funds to also take smaller artists on board. This is where independent labels come in to fill in the gaps. We at Velvetstorm Media are not working against the mainstream, but we want to give the indie-artists a voice and the chance to be heard, as quality does also exist outside, and without the pressure of, being signed to a huge record company.
We are always open to discovering new talents and would be happy to extend our circle to include further artists.
